Data Governance: It Takes a Village (and Good Infrastructure)

We're excited to announce that an article written by our CEO, Ani Chaudhuri, has been published today in Toolbox.

Entitled Data Governance:  It Takes a Village (And Good Infrastructure), the article poses the key question:  who should own cloud data governance?

It seems like a reasonably straightforward question, but the answer is complicated.  Ani lists logical candidates -- like the Security team, the Data team, and the Privacy & Compliance team -- and explores the limitations of any one team trying to own cloud data governance.

The reality is, cloud data governance is so difficult because so many teams need to be involved -- it takes a village.  Screen Shot 2022-05-18 at 8.14.14 PM

Cross functional involvement is necessary, but not sufficient -- great data governance requires close collaboration and coordination across functions, and the only way to achieve that at scale is with good infrastructure.

Give it a read, and let us know what you think!
